Performance Assessment and Efficiency Verification

Test existing products to fully assess their performance and verify product efficiency. Evaluate and describe why product performance and efficiency may not meet stated technical specifications.

Test Procedure Development

Develop new testing protocols and test methods to fully account for advanced and more efficient designs whose benefits are not currently captured by existing test procedures.

 

Refrigeration Test Chamber Capabilities 

 

  • Full-scale test facility for assessing energy performance of refrigerators, freezers, wine chillers, ice makers, and other products under standard and custom operating conditions
  • Able to test four full-size units simultaneously
  • Capable of maintaining temperature range between 40 °F and 120 °F (5 °C and 48 °C) and relative humidity range of 30 - 95%

  • Indoor room temperature range 45°-100°F, humidity range 20 - 90%
  • Outdoor room temperature range 10°-120°F, humidity range 10 - 90%
  • Indoor and outdoor room independently controlled temperature and humidity conditions
  • Code tester/air enthalpy tunnels to measure air flow rate and psychrometric conditions
  • Fully automated data acquisition systems
  •  Full-scale test facility for assessing energy performance of residential and light commercial central air conditioners and heat pumps including mini-split units
  • Up to 7.5-ton cooling capacity and up to 5-ton heating capacity
